Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the Journalism and Print Media degree program requirements, graduates will:

demonstrate news-gathering skills, including research and interviewing methods
write grammatically correct, accurate, objective, and comprehensive accounts
demonstrate a working knowledge of ethical journalism, including an understanding of the purpose of journalism
be able to use various narrative techniques in news and feature stories for print and the web
be skilled in the basic operation of desktop publishing tools
be critically aware of the roles and ethical responsibilities of journalists in a multicultural society

College Requirements:

Successful completion of CUNY Assessment Tests in Reading, Writing, and ACCUPLACER CUNY Assessment Test in Math with passing examination scores, unless otherwise exempt, or developmental courses may be required.

Civic Engagement Experiences:

Two (2) Civic Engagement experiences satisfied by Civic Engagement Certified or Civic Engagement Component courses or approved outside activity.

Writing Intensive Requirement:

One (1) Writing Intensive course in any discipline is required. Participation in a Learning Community that includes ENG 1200 or ENG 2400 also satisfies this requirement.
