Freshman Services is aimed at assisting freshman students make a comfortable and successful transition to Kingsborough Community College. The office helps to lessen the anxieties of students who have never attended college before by offering accurate information, support services and a place where they can make a connection with an advisor who will address any concerns they may have.
Freshman Services is responsible for advising and registering all incoming freshmen, Pre-Enrollment Services, Academic Advisement, Socials/Open House events and workshops. For further information contact freshman.services@kingsborough.edu
Transfer Success Center

Transfer Services advisors are available to meet with students who are transferring into Kingsborough. Services include educating students on Kingsborough degree requirements and college policies, providing course equivalency information for students transferring into Kingsborough, and completing the transfer application process. New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation takes place twice a year. Orientation assists incoming students with their transition to college. Entering a new college setting can be a bit frightening. Students are in a new environment, with new people, and have much more independence than ever before. Orientation is aimed at alleviating some of the anxiety surrounding these issues as well as providing an opportunity for students to meet other incoming students, receive information about college resources and programs, and enjoy Kingsborough’s beautiful college campus. Military and Veteran Affairs Office

The Military and Veteran Affairs Office (MAVA) serves the needs of prospective and enrolled active military personnel, reservists, veterans, and their dependents, spouses and survivors. MAVA aids in applying for and certification of students who are eligible to receive education benefits under various Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) programs. In this role, the MAVA team facilitates a smooth transition and reintegration into the college community. MAVA provides counseling and advisement services, academic program information, and certifies eligible students to receive DVA education benefits while maintaining productive relationships with the Veterans Administration and other agencies serving veterans. All active military personnel, reservists, veterans and their dependents, spouses and survivors receive priority enrollment at the College each semester. New Americans Center

The New Americans Center is a one-stop citizenship center offering free immigration services at Kingsborough Community College and the Brooklyn community at large, including confidential one-on-one consultations with an immigration attorney and/or paralegal. The Center provides assistance with citizenship application, issues relating to student visas, spousal visas, renewal of alien cards, and family deportation petitions, and general legal counseling relating to maintaining and acquiring immigration status in the United States.
