EDC 5100 - Pedagogical Approaches for Students with Disabilities 3 Credit(s) Hours: 3 hrs.
In this course students will apply their understanding of the principles of universal design for learning and culturally-responsive teaching to a wide range of issues related to the instruction of students with disabilities. This will include: inclusion of strategies in the classroom and in specialized placements, intervention models to address different learning needs, the importance of art and play-based pedagogical approaches, and different pedagogical approaches for working with children with different types of disabilities.
Prerequisite(s): EDC 5000 with a minimum grade of “C”
